About Parspec

Parspec is building the AI and digital infrastructure for the construction materials supply chain.

Construction is a $15 trillion industry, yet the systems that underpin the buying and selling of materials remain fragmented, manual, and disconnected. Distributors and rep agencies rely on spreadsheets, PDFs, phone calls, and siloed tools to find new products and quote and manage projects; creating delays, errors, and margin erosion across the supply chain.

Parspec is an AI-native platform that powers how construction products are discovered, bought, and sold. Trusted by more than 300 MEP distributors and rep agencies, Parspec helps project-driven businesses bid faster, win more work, and operate more profitably. By combining product intelligence, AI-powered workflows, and a connected ecosystem, Parspec is laying the foundation for a more intelligent, efficient construction supply chain.

Founded in 2021 and headquartered in San Mateo, California, Parspec has raised $31 million from leading deep-tech and construction-technology investors.

The Opportunity

Parspec is seeking an industry expert for a paid short-term advisory engagement (not a full-time role) to help our team better understand how quoting, product selection, and material procurement workflows operate across the plumbing, mechanical, and waterworks supply chain.

We are looking for professionals with direct hands-on experience at plumbing, mechanical, or waterworks distributors (supply houses) or manufacturer representative agencies.

Ideal candidates have personally supported contractor quotations, bid desks, inside sales for commercial projects, or project coordination, and can walk our team through how these workflows operate in practice.

What You Will Achieve and Key Responsibilities

You’ll spend time with our product team helping us understand how quoting and bidding workflows work in the industry. This may include conversations about:

  • Typical processes used to develop and deliver material quotes for commercial projects

  • Common tools, systems, and documents used in quoting and bid support

  • How contractors, distributors, and manufacturer representatives coordinate during plan/spec bidding

  • How awarded projects are managed through submittals, material tracking, and order fulfillment

  • Where inefficiencies commonly occur in quoting, procurement, and project coordination

  • Provide feedback on how Parspec’s platform could better support industry quoting and product selection workflows

Your experience will help our team understand how these processes generally operate across the industry and inform the development of better tools.

Why This Matters

Commercial plumbing and mechanical projects involve complex quoting, product selection, and procurement workflows. Today, much of this process still depends on manual coordination between contractors, distributors, and manufacturer representatives.

At Parspec, we are building technology to modernize how construction products are discovered, evaluated, and quoted. To build something that truly helps the industry, we need to understand how these workflows actually happen in the real world.

Your experience supporting contractor quotes, bid desks, and project coordination will help our team learn how plan and spec bidding, material procurement, and project execution work in practice. These insights will directly influence the tools we build.

By sharing your experience, you will help us create software that helps industry professionals quote projects faster, choose the right products with more confidence, and reduce friction across the supply chain.

Who You Are

We’re looking for professionals who have direct experience supporting quotes or project bids for commercial plumbing, mechanical, or waterworks projects.

Typical backgrounds include:

  • Commercial Plumbing / Mechanical Estimator

  • Project Manager or Project Coordinator at a Distributor

  • Sales Engineer or Quotations Engineer at a Manufacturer Rep Agency

  • Outside Sales or Project Manager at a Plumbing / Mechanical Rep Firm

If you've spent time working with contractors, preparing quotes, supporting plan/spec bids, or coordinating with distributors on commercial projects, we'd love to hear from you.

Ideal Experience

  • 5–10+ years of experience in commercial plumbing, mechanical, or waterworks distribution, contracting, or manufacturer rep agencies

  • Direct experience supporting contractor quotations, bid desks, or commercial project coordination

  • Familiarity with plan/spec construction bidding workflows

  • Experience managing or supporting submittals, procurement, or project execution processes

  • Strong understanding of how contractors, distributors, and manufacturer rep agencies collaborate on bids

Engagement Details

  • Flexible scheduling

  • Hourly consulting compensation based on experience
